What brought you to Pixelmon?

I just wanted to start a post to see how everyone originally got started to play pixelmon. Was it a youtuber? Just enjoyment of the Pokémon franchise? Something else entirely?


I started randomly playing pixelmon probably around 2015, and had always enjoyed Pokémon. I enjoyed Minecraft and playing other modded Minecraft and one day I suddenly found pixelmon. I started playing when it was still the basic textures and not a whole bunch going on, and this was when the textures weren't as smoothed out as they are now. I stopped playing for a long time, but then I eventually came back and it's been a great time! They have definitely put more work into pixelmon and have been great at adding new features, so hopefully we can look forward to a lot more of that.

Honestly, Covid is the culprit in my case. I was bored after graduating HS at the time and wanted something to do to pass the time.

Honestly, I used to play Pixelmon back in like 2019 / 2020 but I lost interest and it wasn't until 2023 when I was encouraged by a friend to join AnubisMC. And so I did. I don't really regret it to be honest cause it was a good choice.

Covid gave me the opportunity to play pixelmon and i've been a big fan since. Though i did stop playing for a year or 2 then came back to anubis a year ago and haven't stopped since.

I started playing around 2015 too, been around and about the gens server before it merged into Anubis, still stuck around for that time
